Will my balcony attract bees and butterflies if I plant lavender?

Hey everyone! I'm just starting out with planting and I'm looking to buy Lavandula x intermedia 'Phenomenal' because it looks amazing when it's in full bloom. However, I'm a bit worried about whether I'll end up with bees, butterflies, and other insects visiting my balcony since I don't have screens or nets for my windows or door. Any thoughts?

Honestly, I’d love to see more bees around! Just thought it was funny how you mentioned being 'infested' with them. I often get mosquitoes instead. But I’m curious if lavender will also attract roaches or other pests?

Yep! Flowers definitely attract insects, so if you’re planting outside, expect some visitors. But don't stress too much; bugs are kind of everywhere whether or not you plant flowers.

Totally! If you plant flowers, you'll attract pollinators like bees and butterflies. It's a good thing though because they’re beneficial for the environment! But if you're nervous about them coming inside, I get that. Maybe consider adding some fine mesh screens later!
