Tips for Holding Small Carvings While Working?

Hey folks! I'm just starting out with wood carving and recently made a tiny tree that fits right in my palm. I've noticed it gets kind of tricky to hold onto, especially as I get closer to finishing. I'm looking for tips or techniques to help hold it better while I work. Any suggestions?

A great tip for holding smaller projects like your tree is to leave the trunk a bit longer as a handle. Once you're finished carving, you can always saw off the extra length. Another option is to attach a small screw into the base of your piece to have a better grip. Get creative with your hold!

Totally agree with that suggestion! Also, using a small multi-angle vise can make a big difference, allowing you to secure your piece without straining your grip. And don't hesitate to wear gloves while you carve; it can help with grip too, especially on tiny projects.
