I just had 130 feet of gutters installed for $3,500, and I'm starting to wonder if I overpaid. The installation took from 10:30 AM to before 4 PM, but I'm not happy with the final result. The downspouts are slightly crooked, many of the leaf guards have kinks and dips, and all of them are sloping back towards the house. There's also a noticeable dent in one section of the gutter. I sent pictures to the contractor, but he insists there's no issue and accused me of trying to avoid payment. Am I being too picky, or should I expect better quality for that price?

I feel for you, man. I had a similar experience with gutters once. After getting them done professionally, I noticed issues immediately. If the contractor isn't fixing things after you've raised your concerns, I’d be tempted to fix them myself or at least demand a refund for the bad work. That dent shouldn't even be there! It's not unreasonable to want the job done right, especially when you're paying that much.
Honestly, it sounds like you paid a lot for what seems to be a subpar job. I think you have every right to expect a professional finish, especially with such a steep price tag. If the downspouts and leaf guards are installed incorrectly, that could lead to bigger problems down the line. Have you thought about pushing back harder with the contractor? If they're not willing to fix these issues, you might have to consider leaving negative reviews to get their attention.
Yeah, that price seems high for that kind of work, especially if the quality is off. I just had about the same length of gutters put in with downspouts for $1,400, and they delivered much better results. The contractor should be open to making corrections—if they refuse, maybe hint at posting a review to social media as leverage. You deserve a job well done for your investment!
