I recently got a new sprinkler controller that I want to mount outside, but there's no convenient outlet nearby. The only outlet is inside, right behind where I'm planning to mount the controller. I'm considering just drilling a hole through the wall to plug it in from the inside instead of installing an outdoor electrical box or hard-wiring it. Is this a crazy idea? I'm struggling to find useful info on this, and while a chatbot suggested it could work, I want to check if it's safe and if there are tips to make the process smoother.
