What’s the Ideal Height for an Egress Window Well?

I'm remodeling my basement and just switched from a regular window to an egress window. The crew installed it, but now I'm concerned about the height of the steel window well outside. Most I've seen are about ground level, but mine stands at around 2 feet high. I found online that the well should be at least 3 inches above ground for proper drainage, so I'm wondering if this height is acceptable. If not, I plan to add some decorative blocks or something. I'd love to hear your thoughts before I approach my contractor. Thanks!

Wow, that height is definitely on the tall side! I suggest you reach out to your contractor and ask them to come back to adjust it. It seems like they might have missed trimming the metal properly during installation.
